About

My life in the Pacific Northwest and my journey to real estate begins in Indiana. Growing up I lived and worked at the family farm but knew that wasn’t my place forever. I went into elementary education and took my first job in Houston, TX. After five years, I took the opportunity to move to Washington State in 1997 and have called it home ever since! I love the beauty and diversity of the Pacific Northwest. I appreciate that I have many of the same amenities as a big city, but it still feels like a small town.

The idea of getting into real estate started with a great experience with a Realtor. Being a gay man in a relationship, I was apprehensive about talking with a Realtor and sharing my life. However, the Realtor quickly made it clear that I had nothing to hide or fear. I was able to immerse myself in the process completely. It was through that experience that the Realtor asked if I had ever considered going into real estate. She appreciated the eye that I had for things and the questions I asked her. She planted a seed that has finally sprouted.

My previous experience as a teacher has helped me transition into working in real estate. My organizational and relationship-building skills as a teacher are key to helping all types of people and families and navigating the ins and outs of real estate. Listening to my clients so we can set and achieve their home buying or selling goals is like helping a student achieve an educational goal.

When people think about real estate they are inclined to believe it’s only about property, but to me, it’s all about people. The relationship you build with those you serve is the foundation for a great experience. I enjoy getting to know someone first by talking about their lives. This allows us to set goals based on their needs and desires. I thrive on the challenge of finding and putting together all the pieces of the puzzle.

I know first hand how many people in the LGBTQ+ community can be apprehensive about speaking to a Realtor and sharing their stories. My goal is service, not sales. Clients can be true to themselves when they work with me and I will embrace that to help them take another step into the future they are trying to make for themselves.

When I’m not finding the perfect home for my clients, I enjoy being creative and working on projects, working in my greenhouse, and exploring all that Washington has to offer. As a Realtor with John L. Scott Talent Group I believe I’m the perfect Realtor for any of your buying/selling needs and I would love to connect with you to help you achieve your homeownership goals.
